IKEA recalls 169,000 baby high chairs in US, Canada
WASHINGTON — Swedish furniture giant IKEA has recalled 169,000 baby high chairs sold in the United States and Canada over reports that the safety belts can open unexpectedly.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada announced the recall on Thursday and IKEA posted a warning on its website over the ANTILOP high chair, sold from August 2006 through January 2010 for around $20.
The safety regulators said IKEA had received eight complaints about the safety belts worldwide, including three reports of children suffering minor injuries after falling from the chairs.
The chairs were manufactured in China and marketed throughout North America.
"Safety is always a top priority at IKEA and we ask customers who have an ANTILOP high chair from supplier #17389 with production date 0607-0911 (YYMM), to immediately contact IKEA at 1-800-661-9807," the firm said on its website.

Attn: Dog Owners Only in MPSJ area - Before you go renew your dog licences for 2012‏

Just nak passing along this info since I have a lot of non malay friends yang have dogs. Lagipun mereka pun Allah's creature kan? hehehe

This is the email from a fellow dog owner di Subang Jaya :

Before you trot off to renew your dog licences at MPSJ for 2012, you should know a couple of things:
1) The new rates are RM10 if your dog has been neutered and RM20 if it is not neutered.
2) But, there is a new requirement!

YOU NEED TO GET A VET TO CERTIFY THE FACT IF YOUR DOG IS NEUTERED in order to enjoy the lower rate.

I have scanned the relevant page of the 4 page form and attached it here so that you won't be surprised by it or frustrated that you can't get the new licence after waiting for yonks for your turn in the queue. Unless of course you are prepared like me to not waste more precious time and pay the rate for a non-neutered dog.

It appears it is not compulsory to attach a photocopy of the up-to-date vaccination certificate (asked for in the form) if you bring along the original certificates for the officer to sight. I brought mine along as per previous years' requirement, so saved two photocopies.

I am not supplying the whole set scanned because if you all print out the forms to fill beforehand who is going to use the zillion copies that have already been printed. As it is the form being printed on single sided sheets is already a big enough carbon footprint for this exercise. I won't bore you with the details here but will take that issue up with the relevant governing authorities. Oh before I forget, you have to fill a set of forms for every dog that you have!

Have fun and hope some of you at least will get to enjoy the lower rate if your pet has been neutered.
