Moon eclipse phenomenon is expected to will occur on tomorrow (January 1 2010M / 15 Muharram 1431H). Starting at 1:17 am to 5:28 am. Level of maximum eclipse occurs at 3:24 am.
Is it not that Solar and lunar eclipses are reminders of the Day of Judgment, when the sun, moon and stars will all lose their light???

Subhanallah, the occurrence of lunar eclipse occurs in time just in the morning of the new year. It is as if Allah has given an option for the Muslims to choose whether to welcome the new year partying gila2 tu the night or together perform prayers in conjunction with lunar eclipse (not prostrate (sujud) on the moon, but prostrate (sujud) to Allah Almighty the Almighty that He wills do to great phenomenons) .
For those in KL, JAKIM and National Space Agency will hold a Salat al-Kusuf (The Eclipse Prayer) with the National Mosque at night.
Bagi Solat Gerhana Bulan waktunya bermula apabila ternyata berlakunya gerhana bulan dan berakhir dengan hilang gerhana dan naik matahari. Tidak dikira dengan naik fajar atau jatuhnya pada malam dengan gerhananya. Sekiranya berlaku gerhana bulan ketika terbenamnya, dan sebelum terbit fajar maka dibolehkan solat. Tetapi jika terbenamnya bulan sesudah terbit fajar, maka terdapat dua pendapat iaitu :
i. Qaul Qadim : Tidak ada solat gerhana kerana kekuasaan bulan telah hilang bila terbit fajar (subuh ).
ii. Qaul Jadid : Ada solat gerhana kerana kekuasaan bulan masih ada sehinggalah terbit matahari ( syuruk ).
* Di dalam mazhab Syafie dibolehkan bersolat walaupun ketika berlaku gerhana tersebut adalah waktu tahrim.
